HofNews: New Parking Registration Procedure

NEW PARKING REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
To all Faculty, Staff, Administrators and Students:

Beginning in the 2008/2009 academic year, the Department of Public Safety will be implementing a new parking registration procedure. ALL persons with currently registered vehicles must obtain a rear view mirror parking tag, which is linked to the window sticker already on the vehicle. The mirror tag will serve as a visual check as cars enter parking areas and will be checked to ensure they match the code on the window sticker. All vehicles must have both the mirror tag and the window sticker in order to park on the campus.

In order to distribute the mirror tags, Public Safety Officers will be stationed at various parking lots beginning on Monday September 22nd, 2008. You will need to present your Hofstra ID at this time. The Public Safety Officer will check your vehicle registration and issue you a mirror tag for your vehicle, on the spot.

If your car is not currently registered, you must bring your vehicle and your valid Hofstra ID to the Public Safety Office, located at the corner of California Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm to obtain your window sticker and mirror tag.

Vehicles without both the mirror tag and correlating window sticker will not be permitted to park on campus. This will be strictly enforced beginning October 1, 2008.
