Katrina Report released

TITLE: A Failure of Initiative: Final Report of the Select Bipartisan Committee to Investigate the Preparation for and Response to Hurricane Katrina

On September 15, 2005, the House of Representatives approved H. Res. 437, which created the Bipartisan Committee to investigate the preparation and response to Hurricane Katrina by local, State and Federal agencies. The Committee presents this official, edited and corrected copy with the findings stemming from it to the U.S. House of Representatives and the American people for their consideration.

For up-to-date news on the aftermath there is Katrina Watch. The Center for Public Integrity spotlights the best coverage of Hurricane Katrina's aftermath and tracks government contracts awarded for cleanup and reconstruction.
